Nikon D3 DSLR Review by byThom

Review (Summary): "... Up to the D3, I knew of no digital camera I'd really trust at higher than ISO 1600. The problems are multiple. Many of you reading this may think that it's just about noise buildup that hurts high ISO digital images. No, it's not just that. Dynamic range tends to drop about a stop for each ISO stop increase (think about that for a moment and what that implies). ..

Fujifilm Finepix S100fs Review by DCResource

Review (Summary): "The Fuji FinePix S100fs ($799) is one of the more unique fixed-lens cameras on the market today. It features a larger-than-normal (2/3"), 11.1 Megapixel SuperCCD HR sensor, which (at least in theory) should give it better low light and high ISO performance than other compact cameras. New IPTC Standards for Sports Data and Photography

Members of the International Press Telecommunications Council have approved Photo Metadata Standard 2008, a major expansion of IPTC's popular photos metadata suite. Widely used by professional photographers worldwide, IPTC's photo metadata now includes expanded descriptive data in a more structured environment, making automated processing of photos easier, cheaper and more reliable.

A method of encapsulating the expanded IPTC photo metadata into image files, PDF and other multimedia files was also approved, making it possible for the new metadata to permanently include this important information about images throughout the production cycle, even if the photo is eventually embedded in a page or new graphic. This is a major advantage for news publishers, archivists and photographers who depend on permanent IPTC photo metadata to help buy, sell and use photographs.

Sony Alpha DSLR-A200 Review by DPReview
